Golden ARCHES Peer Health Education Program

Student Organizations & Leadership

organization2

As illustrated in our mission and core values, students and their active leadership are essential, and are the cornerstone of the "Golden ARCHES" program. The program uses a population-based model to involve some of the critical populations in the campus community. Advocates for National Greek Leadership (ANGLE), is for students involved in Greek letter organizations. Student Athlete Mentors (SAMs), involves student-athletes from our intercollegiate athletic teams. Peer Health Educators (PHE), is open to any student. By utilizing this population-based model, we are able to effectively reach and involve students from major sub-cultures of the overall student population. It also allows these different populations to work together to address issues, rather than pointing the finger at each other.

While these three groups operate independently to address the specific needs of their respective populations, they also work collectively and collaboratively to address the common needs of the campus. The advising and leadership of the program is maintained through an Executive Committee made up of the Co-Directors of each of the three student organizations and the program''s advisor.

The "Golden ARCHES" program recruits new members during the Spring Quarter of each academic year. During the open recruitment period, applications are available on each organization''s page to download.
